Ever wondered how to apply a custom made material to a shape?
The following image I created using Photoshop (using brushes) and imported to Inkscape
Then applied the command Object > Pattern > Objects to Pattern
Now you can use this pattern to fill objects just like any other pattern in Fill & Stroke dialog
But to customize the area of fill, I’ve used the following technique..
After drawing the desired shape, I’ve aligned the shape with the pattern and command Path > Division – you can increase the transparency of the shape to view underneath
